>> A CONSULTANT'S CHALLENGE: CONVERTING A BORING REPORT INTO AN ENGAGING WORKSHOPOBJECTIVE: This consultant needed to present a series of findings, conclusions and propositions to her client including very detailed and sensitive material. It had to be done in a way that would open a generative discussion and motivate change.
STRATEGY PROPOSED: A SWOT analysis touches every nerve in any company. In this case, it came from an outside consultant, for a client, to a business partner. Instead of submitting a bulleted list in a report which could be easily rejected, the consultant wanted to run a workshop for her client and present a huge mind map to visually describe how balance could be achieved and the organisations could leap forward in partnership. She needed to zoom in and out to navigate around the map like a Prezi but wanted to use the other features of a PowerPoint even consolidating presentations from other consultants by dropping them into her presentation at the last minute. Three PPTs became one and it flowed to the desired outcome by digesting information, making it visual and sharing it for discussion. RESULT: Her client and their partner identified the key criteria for establishing a successful longterm partnership and set goals before the day was finished. More consulting projects came through. Yay!! Read her testimonial here. |
